Happy New Year Everyone! :) I hope that everyone had a wonderful Friday, and Saturday celebrating the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011. This is always one of my favorite holidays because I see it a such a sweet picture of Christ's redemption. Just like Christ redeems us and gives us a clean slate in our spiritual lives, if we so choose, we can take advantage of the same kind of 'clean slate' in other areas of our lives on January 1st. A new tax year, getting new deductions or credits (Like we'll be getting in a few weeks!). A new school year (in a sense) because even though school starts in August, you have a chance to do things totally different in the second half, and to prepare you for that, they give you several weeks off in between. Take advantage! And most noticeably, it can be a new beginning personally. Most people call these 'resolutions', but these little commitments, if entered into after careful thought and prayer can be lifestyle changes that last a lifetime! I love to think and be reminded that just like you stay up and watch a ball drop and all of a sudden it's a different year, the same kind of 'total change' is possible in Christ. What a gift to know that at the moment of salvation, there is complete change, with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the cleansing from sin, and that just like you can't 'rewind' to last year, there is NO WAY to lose your salvation! Amen and Amen! :)
What a mighty God we serve!
