Party People!

So tonight I went to a Pampered Chef party at my friend Angela's house. It was very fun. Mitch was really tired so I dropped Brooke off at my mom's house and then headed to Angela's house. I cranked up the radio and rocked out all the way over there. :)

The party was very nice and fun, even if we had to put the pudding in the freezer to get it done faster! :) We didn't mind, we just liked having no babies! :) WE made a very good dessert while Stacy showed us some of her products and then put in any orders we wanted. I headed home around 9:30 and it was so nice outside that I rolled down the windows and turned up the radio and it felt SOOOO nice to just enjoy driving with out being quiet so Brooke can sleep or singing to her because she's upset!

I picked up Brooke and headed home, so glad to have had just those few hours to enjoy myself and relax a little bit! :) I definitely need a little more time like that!

Note from Brookelynne...

Hey everyone!

This is Brooke. I've decided to hijack Mama's blog because she's been slacking lately and quite frankly, this is supposed to me about me anyway right? Yeah, that was the impression I was under! So let's get down to it!

The main thing that you guys should know is that I'm way cooler than my mom tells you all! She hasn't told you about all the fun I have with Kalea each week (the girl who Mom watches for part of the week). She's 14 months old and that's like seriously twice my age, but we have so much fun together! She's kinda small for her age and as anyone who sees me can tell, I'm on the other side of that scale! :) (not too big though, just like the 75%) Anyway, she's been showing me cool stuff like how to crawl and stand on my own. She's trying to wait on me to start walking so we can do it together, but between my mom and her's, they'll probably MAKE her walk before I can get it down! But don't worry, I'm close! I've been standing on my own for a couple of days now...I can't believe how excited Mama and Daddy get when I do it. *Geeze Louise* You'd think that no one had ever done it before!

But back to Kalea, we have serious fun! We sit in the back seat together when we run errands, and we eat lunch together too! She's showing me how to use that sippy cup thing, but I really don't get what is so great about it. Really, why would I use that when I have a perfectly good bottle that does the same thing? Whatever...Kalea seems to like it so I am giving it a try, but just so she doesn't feel bad for working so much harder than I do. :)

And one of the other things that Mama hasn't told you guys about is my awesome pool play dates that we've gone to in the past couple of weeks! Seriously, its pretty awesome. The first time that we had one, I was the only little girl, just me and all the mommies! But there were plenty of boys there for me to play with (namely, Malachi, Chandler, Collin, Nathan and Lee!) We got to swim in the pool and then play in the living room for a while too. It was very cool.

Then we got to do it again the next week! That time we had WAY more people, which of course made it more fun....let me see if I can remember everyone...Well of course there was Mama and Me, Kalea brought her mom, Mrs Christina, then Mrs Lindsey and Chandler, Mrs Julie and Collin, Mrs Whitney and Maxwell, Mrs Angela and Dallas, Mrs Winnie and Clara, Mrs Misty and Blake, Mrs Kelly and Malachi, Mrs Maggie with her two granddaughters, Mrs Krysten, Ethan and Tucker. I'm pretty sure that was everyone, but boy was that a lot! :) We had a really good time that day too. The first week had worn my two piece that I got from my cousins Alana and Jaqlyn, but it was pretty big still, so Daddy bought me a new tankini for this last week!

Isn't it SOOOO cute? Yeah, I know, I rock it! :) Anyway, I didn't like the water as much this week, but it was a little cooler, so I'm sure that was why. Here is a picture of me and my friend Dallas playing on the floor!

She's cool too. (Actually all of my friends are pretty cool, because seriously, with awesome parents and influences (me), how could they not be cool?) haha!

One of the other things that I've been up to is becoming what Mama likes to call a "stink-pot". What she really wants should call me is "little girl who has Mommy and Daddy wrapped around her little finger and at my beckon call!" For example, the other day we went over to Mrs Lindsey's house for a couple of hours and my friend Chandler had this jumperoo. Well all I had to do was look interested in it and Daddy put me right in, then I jumped around laughing and smiling and with out a word from me, he was like "We should go buy one of these for Brooke!" I seriously could have laughed out loud! (But I played it cool! Its just too easy!) But within a few days we were no other than Once Upon a Child and *tada* I was sitting in my very own Jumperoo! It was really funny once we got it home, because Mommy and Daddy looked at each other and were like "Where are we going to put this!?!?!?" But that's okay with me! Anyway, I think I hear Mommy coming down the hall way...she takes forever to do laundry! Better run!

Thanks again for reading Mom's blog and keeping up with what's going on with me! Love you all! XOXOX

Collin's Birthday Party!

Our sweet friends, Julie and Son, have a sweet son, Collin, who turned one on Friday! So we had Brookelynne's first birthday party to go to today! Julie did a wonderful job of decorating and setting up and we had a great time! We ate first, while the little ones played! This is Maxwell,Dallas, Brookelynne and Clara playing together...

Then we had some awesome pool time! Julie set up a baby pool, but most of the babies were not very happy with it! They all cried either as soon as the got in the pool or after they got splashed a little, except Brookelynne!

My sweet girl didn't flinch when Lilo splashed her, she even joined in. And when she fell forward, into the water, we sat her up quickly and said "Good Job!!" and she just laughed!

When we got her out of the pool, we wrapped her in her bathrobe, which looked ADORABLE on her!

And got dressed for a wagon ride in Collin's new wagon! Clara and Dallas were headed out for a ride, but they just really wanted Brooke to join them, so we sat her down in the middle! :)

And sweet baby Dallas, who can apparently fall asleep ANYWHERE, was tired enough to pass out while in the wagon!

Before we headed home, the Birthday Boy played in his cake! :) Such a cutie! Happy Birthday Collin! Thank you for having us at your party! :)

Playing with Dallas!!!!

Sunday morning I worked in the nursery and pulled out the camera when Brookelynne and Dallas started playing. I added quotes so that everyone can know exactly what went down!

Dallas: "Would you like this one, Brooke?"

Brookelynne: "No thanks, but you might like to try this one."

Dallas: "Well that one is nice, but if you're giving up toys, I'd really prefer this one!"

Brookelynne: "Umm, that's a negative, this one's mine..."

Brookelynne and Dallas together: "Lets play with eachother's bows instead!"

Gate River Run

Some of my friends and I decided to do the Gate River Run together. Four of the six of us are new moms so we just walked it, but we had a great time! We had all four little ones in strollers and Rachel and Susan were honorary mom's for the day because they took turns pushing stroller so that none of us had to push a stroller the entire time. :)

Since my car is still broken down, Mitch dropped Brookelynne and I off at Julie's house and I rode with her, Susan and Collin. This is Brooke and Collin in the backseat together...aren't they adorable?

We started near the back but were passing people for most of the race. Our goal was to less than 20 minute miles and finish in less than 3 hours. We crossed the start line at 9 minutes after the cannon/gun fired (there were 15000 racers after all) and we finished the race at 2 hours and 55 minutes. :) We were very proud of that.

The race is 15K (or approx 9.5 miles long) and we start on Bay St, go over the Main
St Bridge, through residential San Marco, then around to Atlantic Blvd and over the Hart Bridge.

(Me, Brookelynne and Rachel near the top of the Hart)

While the Main Street Bridge wasn't easy, nothing compared to going up the Hart at the end of the race! The wind was BRUTAL! But we and the babies all did great! We had a pretty uneventful walk, with only 2 stops and one emergency feeding while walking. (Angela was a champ! We let everyone else keep the pace and I hung back helping her stay covered while she walked and fed Dallas, and then she gave Dallas to me and we ran/jogged a quarter/half mile to catch back up!)

This is all of us at the END of the race, we looked pretty darn good, don't you think?

Mortifying Moments #1

I have decided that I am going to begin a series of posts, starting today, on an 'as needed' basis called "Mortifying Moments." These posts will include the accounts of the motherhood moments that are so mortifying that I just want to crawl into a hole and never come out! lol. I got this idea today after having my first "mortifying moment" of 2010, it went a little something like this...

Today I had a baby shower to attend for a sweet girl from church named Brenda Robinson! It was hosted by Whitney and Julie and I knew most of the attendees from church, and we had a really nice time! Brenda got many great things and everyone talked and caught up and it was really lovely. Unfortunately Brooke didn't get the memo that she was supposed to be on her best behavior...

When we first arrived, I had a bottle ready for her so that she would be full and happy. She ate and was very sweet for a little while, and then as soon as Brenda started opening presents, she got fussy and I mean REALLY FUSSY! Within a few minutes I was in Maxwell's nursery trying to get her to stop crying as she screamed at the top of her lungs! And nothing was working. I had changed her, rocked her, bounced her, walked her and it was not helping. It was only 3:15 and she usually doesn't go to sleep until after 4:30, so she shouldn't have been really tired or hungry because she ate at 2:15. But I made her a bottle anyway and started getting my stuff together, because she was not cooperating. She took the bottle, but would suck for 15 seconds and then scream, and then do that again. So I got her in her car seat and was walking to the door when she kicked the bottle out of her mouth and was sound asleep. Whitney said I noticed that and said "Why don't you see if she'll stay asleep and then you can stay?" So I went back into the kitchen and she stayed asleep! lol. But I was seriously ready to crawl behind a wall and hide!

As if that weren't enough drama for me in one day, we took another swing at it about an hour later. Brooke woke up and was in a very good mood after a 45 minute nap, but I no sooner pulled her out of her carrier that she pooped! I began getting a diaper and wipes because she was definitely going to need a diaper change! :) As I walked across the house to the nursery so I could change her, Angela and Jennifer were on the couch with their little girls and called me over. They said we were going to take pictures of all the mothers and babies, so I needed to sit down! I told them that Brooke smelled and needed to be changed but if they didn't mind smelling it while we took the pictures then I guess it could wait.

We sat down and got everyone in the picture, and between the different cameras and the 3 different pictures we took, we were sitting there for a good 10 or 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Brooke had pooped again. When we were finished, I moved Brooke from my lap, to my knees so I could stand up and when I looked down, I had a pool of poop in my lap and some on my shirt. She had it up her back and all over her dress! I was totally humiliated, and had to get napkins to soak it up before I could even stand! Jennifer helped me get Brooke's clothes off, and we held her under the faucet of the bathtub to get her clean. (For the record, she DID NOT like that). :) I then had to borrow clothes from Whitney to drive home in! It was definitely a day I won't forget anytime soon and will probably tell ALL of her boyfriends about it one day! :) Hopefully there will only be one or two more of these posts this year, but I have a feeling that the older she gets, the more creative ways she'll find to embarrass me!

Here's the pic! Just so that you know I'm not lying!
